Our Daughter

I guess I’ll spend this week talking about some of the projects I’m currently working on. They are all in various stages and we’ll just have to wait and see how they progress. The end result, of course, will be to finish the stories, the edits, the covers and then get each onto kindle for sale.

The book I’m just about ready to start the first draft on is OUR DAUGHTER. I don’t want to give away too much of the story, but I will tell you it has been in the summary phase for about a year now. I’ve been pretty stuck with two characters, unsure of how they could progress in the story. I had the beginning and the end for both of them, but just couldn’t see the middle or how to get them from start to finish.

Today I worked out most of the kinks in the storyline and I think I’ve just about got it nailed up where I want. I should be finished with the summary by the end of the week and may even start writing this weekend.

Here’s a teaser. The story centers around a young girl named Katie Cadora. Her life is turned upside-down (literally) at the onset and she has to scramble to not only find her bears but she has to scramble just to save her own life.

The book has a healthy dose of suspense, magic, curious and (to me) engaging characters. At least to me, they’ve been harassing me for the better part of a year for me to get on with it already and help them write their story.

I’m in a place right now where (hopefully) I’ll be able to focus more on and actually enjoy the journey and not worry so much about the destination. If I can do that, it won’t really matter where I ultimately end up and success will be mind every single day that I let the stories come out of me.

Okay, Katie. Have your way. I’ve got the perfect seat and my bag of popcorn in my lap. Let the show begin.
