TV Show Review: Girls

So this is a crazy show on HBO. I never realized the lead character is also the director/producer/writer/whatever else she is. It really surprised me, because she puts herself in some of the most unflattering light in the show as the fat girl of the group.

It’s a typical picture of the age show, trying to capture what it’s like to come of age today. It’s not just about girls, but about twenty-somethings, but I think pretty much anyone can relate if they haven’t been living under a rock for the last 40 years. What people go through is really not all that different now than 10, 20, 30 years ago. Same crap. Same stupid situation people put themselves into and then blame the rest of the world for being in that situation in the first place.

This show is a pinch of funny mixed with a gallon of crazy, which is not all that surprising going in, given the title. It’s worth watching if  you haven’t seen it. Unfortunately, there were only 6 episodes for the first season and no one knows if there will be a season 2.
