Word Count: 540 Hiatus I Think is Over
Something clicked in my head the other day – not sure what it was. I guess my break was finally enough. I got up today with the urge to write. Really, my mind has been preoccupied the last few weeks with new stories and fleshing out details of existing story ideas. But, I can’t get then down on paper (or 1’s and 0’s) until I finish up OUR DAUGHTER, and nothing is ever going to take off for me unless I actually get something out in print and available for people to buy and read. Maybe one of my stories will strike gold or maybe my writing career will flop – either way I’ll know I at least attempted. As it stands now, I’m awash in obscurity without even the possibility of success.
I made the decision to just focus on editing right now. Once I have SEEKING LIGHT AURORA out, then I’m going to finish the edits on IN THE MEADOW. Then I think I’m going to rework my first manuscript I did, and rename it SACRED THE CIRCLE. I’ve decided to take a different approach with it, obscure a few straight story lines a little, make it more of an Isaac Hunter book than it is now. While I do that I’ve also made the goal to write a minimum of 250 words a day on OUR DAUGHTER. Hopefully I’ll have it finished by the time my third novel is published, so I can then jump in and finish up the edits and get it out. Then I’ll have four titles available and I think I’ll have a better estimate of how the public will respond to my work.
After that it’s a toss up what project I’ll work on next. Some days I’m certain it will be SEEING THROUGH. Other days I think maybe I’ll work on OBLIVION next. Of course, WRITING TUCKER always rears his ugly head every time I see a political figure’s secret service escort. Where are you hiding Kevin Tucker? Are you guarding the president yet?
All in all, it was a productive day today. Let’s hope tomorrow will be another of the same.
