Welcome
Welcome to Isaac Hunter’s Online Bible Study! I’m glad you found your way here. Let me take a few minutes to give you the lay of the land, explain how this Bible Study works, and what you can expect. There is absolutely no cost to join the Study and nothing you need to buy—well—except for a Bible if you don’t already have one.
NOTE: I highly recommend Logos Bible Software for serious Bible study, no matter what level you are at—new or seasoned believer. If you are not a believer yet (or don’t know) please go to this page before you continue. It might just change your life in ways you can’t even comprehend or imagine.
How the Bible Study Works
- This study is based off of my personal devotional that I have committed to: a 20 year project to go through the Bible one time by reading five chapters each month.
- We will be spending the first fifteen days reading the selected five chapters each day. We will also be highlighting the five chapters using the Heiararchical Highlighting System created by Dr. Greg Harris from Masters Seminary. Our book order we will be going in will closely resemble the reading order from Biblical Mastery Academy. After the first fifteen days of reading and highlighting the selected five chapters, where we will also be writing down any and all questions that arise from that detailed inspection. Starting on day 16 we will continue to read the text at least once each day, but our focus will shift to chasing down the answers for each question that came up from the first fifteen days.
- Isaac will post one reminder posts on the blog on the 15th of each month (or around there somewhere). This post will be a reminder about the reading, encouragement to finish that month’s reading, and also one or two discussion questions to consider while working. He will also provide a few of the questions he found from the reading. Please answer the discussion questions in the comments for that particular post. Discussion is highly encouraged during the month in the comments section.
- At the end of the month, Isaac will post a final Summary and Discussion post, officially ending that month’s reading. He will provide a summary of the section, answers to some of his questions, and the notice of the book selected for the next month. Please particpate in the comments section of this Summary and Discussion post.
- Repeat for twelve months to finish the year! While the study will continue indefinitely, it should take us approximately 20 years to finish the Bible completely.
Official Rules of the Isaac Hunter’s Bible Study
- This Bible Study will essentially be asynchronous, yet, it will have a month by month deadline.
- Please be respectful in the comments and refrain from harsh, overly critical, or abusive or foul language.
- Respect each other’s opinions. Participants should listen attentively and respect different viewpoints, even if they disagree. Healthy debate is good, but discussions should focus on the book’s merits, not personal attacks. Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you. If you are not certain that the Holy Spirit indwells you or you cannot hear his voice, please go to this page before you join the study. It might just change your life in ways you cannot comprehend.
- Please stay on topic when commenting on any of the posts. Off topic posts are subject to be deleted.
- Be mindful that not everyone reads or understands in the same way or at the same speed. When commenting on the update posts, so be kind in your communication.
