Book Review: Get Motivated!
This could be a worthwhile read, if it is your first foray into the self-help world. Unfortunately, it leaves a lot to be desired if you’ve already read something like Psycho-Cybernetics, and much of it is filler and godly gobbledegook. The background on the author is something you can’t really makeup. She started running seminars (not really sure the purpose), and got big name people to speak at them (not sure about what). I’ve read the business really is a front to gin up options trading, but I don’t really know for sure. Though she made the circuit on the Christian talk shows for years, the last few found her in a bitter and scandalous divorce, with a new boyfriend/coworker – drama for the headlines. If you find her Youtube account, she is still pumping seminars, but now has a slant on teaching the teachers. She seems like she’s really reaching, but who knows. I tried her website and much of it is not working. Apparently, the Get Motivated! Seminar business had to be sold in the divorce (shrug).
All in all, the content of the book (what there is of it) seems mildly interesting. You could sum it up in about two pages, but aren’t most business/self-help books that way? As for me, I’m still looking for something solid that will allow me to sustain motivation in my various projects. I’ll keep you posted.
