!! Course Review !! KI Doctrines of Demons – No More Discussion Questions !

I just finished another course at the Koinonia Institute and, so far, I’m finding the topical courses are not nearly as good as the systematic, contextual reviews of the biblical text by Missler himself.

This course was a two lecture briefing, but it was really odd how it’s title about Demons, and specifically 1 Timothy 4:1 where Paul states, “In latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons.” But, throughout the course, there is actually little to no mention of demons!

!! Course Review !! Credo Courses – The Existence of the Soul with J.P. Moreland !

The other day I received a comment on a review I did for one of the courses I had just finished. It was actually by Michael Patton from Credo House, and he asked if I’ve ever tried one of the courses on Credo Courses.

Well, I’ve been a fan of Michael’s since finding his Theology Program on Bible.org. I’ve finished two of the six courses in the program and really like them.

!! Course Review !! The Teaching Company – Exploring Metaphysics Course !

This afternoon I finished the Teaching Company course, Exploring Metaphysics. It’s been a long time since I started this course, maybe a year or more ago. But, due to the ability to incorporate listening to lectures while at work (as well as finish up the bulk of the discussion questions), I’ve been able to finally finish this one.

This week I finished the Doctrines of Demons course by KI and figured I’d write up a review on it since it’s part of my Unschooled Master of Theology Program. While you’re at it, you can also check out my other assignments here.

I have to say, so far I’ve been pretty disappointed with the quality of most online courses I’ve undertaken so far. I’m starting to wonder if the overall quality for courses these days is just really poor, or if maybe it’s the choices of topics I make in designing my uThM program in the first place.

!! Course Review !! KI Courses – What’s the Big Deal About the Book of Jude ?

It’s been awhile since I finished the Book of Jude course from KI as part of my Unschooled Master of Theology Program, but I decided to finish up this weekend and write up the course review so I could close out the entire section.

It’s been years since I was first introduced to Chuck Missler. Sadly, he passed away not too long ago, shortly after his wife, Nancy, passed away. They lived their last years in New Zealand, having relocated from the US after seeing the handwriting on the wall, as it were (apparently they could see the insanity back then that we’re experiencing in America today).

As I’ve stated before, I’ve known about the Koinonia Institute for several years, and with the free membership, I’m no able to fulfill a lifelong dream of taking these courses online.

So, let’s jump in and see the benefits of a great online course…

Finished another course at Koinonia Institute and this is my review. I went throught the course materials for this course, Learn the Bible in 24 Hours – Lecture 1-12 Old Testament more than twenty years ago while regretfully serving in the US Army overseas. Now, taking the course again, it was surprising how much I remembered from so long ago.

!! Course Assignment !! Metaphysics & Mystery – Complete Questions & Answers !

I just finished the Metaphysics & Mystery course I started several weeks ago. I had first intended to participate with the actual class (apparently 2000 participants), but I really do not fair well with schedules, due dates, or specific meeting times.

Sorry. I guess you’ll have to sue me.

But, I did go ahead and finish the course asynchronously (where I shine). It was an interesting course, and, although the instructor and organizers were less than inspiring (more on that later), I did come away with a quite tantalizing and thought provoking list of questions.

The questions and my answers I’ve included in this post. If you wish to comment about my answers, about the questions, the topics – well, just about anything – please do so in the comments section below. Do keep in mind, though, these answers (and their questions) are a work in progress. They are a reflection of how I might feel about a topic at this particular time, influenced by a myriad of factors.
