Movie Review: Prometheus

I’ve been waiting a long time for this movie to be released on DVD and now that I’ve been able to watch it, I have to say, I’m a little disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, it was a pretty good movie. Obviously, it was well made. But I thought the story was a little hollow, missing that legendary Alien touch that made the franchise an instant classic.

The ending also doesn’t seem to line up with the beginning of Alien, as the guy was found in the chair of the spaceship, not in the lifeboat. But, then again, the new alien might have been the one in the chair, but I doubt they can fly. If nothing else, it certainly opens up many more questions about the origin of the alien species itself. My biggest problem is it does not jive with the Predator vs. Alien movie, which states the aliens were created by the Predators as game to be hunted so the predators could prove their – well – alienness.

I think there are way too many gaps/holes in this prequel installment for it to be considered a legitimate part of the Alien franchise. For all you die hard alien/predator fans out there, this is a pretty good movie , but you will probably not like it.
