Planning the Next Chapter – In-Person Events 2026-2027

At the beginning of every year, I try to step back for a moment and look not just at the next book I’m writing, but at the larger shape of the road ahead.

This January has been especially reflective for me.

After finishing another round of revisions and wrapping up the January Catch-Up, I’ve started doing something I haven’t done very often before — planning in-person events more than a few months into the future.

Over the next several weeks, I’ll begin to map out possible in-person events for 2026 and 2027.

That may include:

– library talks and signings
– independent bookstores
– small workshops
– conferences or reading events

Nothing is scheduled yet. This is very early planning — more listening and dreaming than booking at this point. But it feels like a meaningful step to finally be thinking in years instead of seasons.

If you’re a reader who enjoys my work and you know of a library, bookstore, or conference near you that hosts authors, feel free to let me know. I can’t promise anything, but it’s helpful to learn where readers are and what kinds of events you enjoy.

However this unfolds, I’m grateful to be in a place where I can think about building a long writing life — one book, one conversation, one small gathering at a time.

More soon.

Isaac

    This sounds very exciting indeed.

    1. That means a lot — thank you. I’ve been wanting to do more face-to-face gatherings, so hearing that there’s interest is very encouraging.

What do you think?
