In our next session, we’re exploring the Old Testament.
The Bible is divided into two major sections: the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament contains 39 books and includes law, history, poetry, wisdom, and prophecy.
So the question for this session is simple:
How do the books of the Old Testament fit together, and how does the Old Testament prepare us for the coming of Jesus?
Watch the short video, spend some time thinking through the discussion questions below, and come ready to talk.
And as always, bring any questions you might have.
Video: Overview of the Gospel of John
Discussion Questions:
1️⃣ John presents Jesus differently than the other Gospels, focusing heavily on who He is rather than only what He did. As you watched the overview, what description or title of Jesus stood out to you the most, and why?
2️⃣ The Gospel of John repeatedly calls readers to believe in Jesus and receive life through Him. After watching the overview, what do you think John most wanted his readers to understand about Jesus, and what questions did that raise for you?
Optional Reading:
Read Along with Us:
1️⃣ Jennifer and I are in the middle of John 11-15. How much did you get done? A little or a lot is perfectly fine.
