  • January has always felt like a gentle pause. After the rush of the holidays and the noise of the year behind us, there is suddenly space again — space to read, to begin something new, or to finally return to a story you meant to start.

For readers who have been curious about the Meadow series, I’m running a small, quiet January Catch-Up this week.

  • We are back at it again with another book cover contest. This time it is for Escaping Light Aurora, the second book in Isaac Hunter’s Aurora Series. We are down to the last three finalists, and, surprise, surprise, the same two artists that have done all our previous work are dominating the field.

Let me show you what we are having to pick from….

  • That did not take very long! It hasn’t even been 24 hours and already a winner has been declared? How is that possible? Well, we sat down last night around the dinner table and had a serious talk about all the candidates thus far. A clear victor emerged and so we thought it best to just end the suspense and get on with it. So, here it is, the winner of the 2nd Isaac Hunter Battle of the Book Covers Contest!

  • Here we go again! What is wrong with me? I guess I’m just rabid for book covers at the moment. We just finished up the book cover contest for Our Daughter, and we got a winner that we fell in love with. But we also got a cover for two other future books that I want to write: Swallowing Saki and Written. Immediately after the Our Daughter contest ended I jumped in for a book covers for the Meadow Series. We are starting with In the Meadow, but I also think we might have a cover for Returning the Meadow (which is being updated for a 2nd and hardcover and paper back editions currently). So, I’ll share the the three winners again of the previous contest, and then we will look at those in the race right now for Meadow. :

  • Alright! So, I closed out the qualifying round with my top four submissions. It was a tough decision, having to cut a few that had potential but just did not have the right feel for the project itself. Additionally, there are submissions in the contest that we know will not be selected for Our Daughter, but are being tweaked for different books I’m writing. The instructions at 99 Designs states that I can award multiple winners, so win-win for everything. Here are the winners of the qualifying round:

  • Hi everyone. This is Isaac again. There has been lots of activity around here for the last twenty-hours. As you may know from my last post, we launched a book cover contest at 99 Designs for an updated cover for my book Our Daughter. Well, it has been very successful in my opinion. We’ve had over 30 submissions in just one day and there are some clear covers that are rising to the top of the contest. I thought I would share those with you guys and give you an opportunity to vote on which one you like best before I make my final decision. Please comment at the bottom, tell us which ones you like best, why you like them, and which one you think we should ultimately choose as the winner.

  • It has been a long time coming, nearly seven months later than expected, but our very own Scholar-in-Residence and Director of Curriculum Development, Steven Veach, has published a journal article in the Ecclesia Militans Journal at Forge Theological Seminary.

This article, a book review of Vern Poythress’ “Logic: A God-Centered Approach to the Foundation of Western Thought” [Print Version] was accepted for publication back in October 2024, but its released was delayed due to staffing changes at the journal.

It has now been released, though, and is available for viewing by the general public. So I would like to encourage you to check it out.

  • Just wanted to let everyone know that my first ever book signing was a complete success! I was shocked at the interest we had in my books, and we even sold most of our stock in a single day! This was at the Experience Lakeside Event in Lakeside, Oregon on the 13th @ 5pm and the 14th at 10am.

I was there for a few hours on the 13th, but there were some miscommunications that limited the number of people who came out so we called it quits for the night and went down to the Lodge and had dinner. I did make $0.90 cents thought from someone making a donation (I don’t even ask for those).

  • Just wanted to send out a final reminder that Isaac Hunter will be at the Experience Lakeside Event in Lakeside, Oregon on the 13th @ 5pm and the 145th at 10am for his very first renegade book signing. Isaac will be at 115 N 8th St, Lakeside, OR 97449. Look for the large banner signs and the table in the doorway at that location. Right off the sidewalk.

Isaac will be selling several of his books in hardcover, offering free book signings, and giveaways. Please come out and support Isaac for his first promotional event. Supplies are very limited; get to the booth early so you can get your signed copy before they are all gone.

Hope to see you all tomorrow and Saturday!

  • Alright!

We’ve been hard at work the last week or so fine tuning our brand new storefront at the Isaac Hunter website. We’ve got all of the current published books uploaded and ready to go in their available formats. We have two courses that are listed (but are not yet available – sorry, still working on this), and the membership is listed but also not yet available (please be patient with us).

  • I started Isaac Hunter the Writer back in 2012.

I’ve had only one theme and one look for the website since then, and while it was a much needed update from the free site I had before that, it has grown old and stale in the proceeding years. In addition, there are some major developments happening for the Isaac Hunter brand, particularly I have begun work on printing all of my books in paperback and hardcover, as well as wanting to do several other expansions. I will also be releasing several new books in the next few years, so, I thought it was necessary to put a fresh face on the website from the start.
