This is one of the few movies that I watched in the theater with my kids back when it came out. I thought it was EXCELLENT! In fact, this movie started my fan-natic following of Saoirse Ronan, who also starred in Hana (another great flick).

In this movie she plays Lina Mayfleet who is a young girl who has grown up in an underground city after the world was “destroyed” by “something” (though they never actually say in the movie from what).

She and her friend find out that not everything in the City of Ember is like it appears and are soon enveloped by a Goony-like adventure that will change their lives forever.

This is a great, great, great, great movie for families to watch together or for an all around lazy weekend afternoon. What else can I say: Just Great!
