That’s right, guys. One of the greatest shows ever made is about to make its Season 2 Premiere. Don’t miss it on Feb 26 on FX. The Americans is coming back and, from what I’ve seen, it’s going to be even better than last season. Not only is this a great show, it actually happened several years ago when the US government busted a bunch of these Russian spies on American soil. Of course, it seems the FX spies are better at they’re job than the real life ones were. Maybe the real ones should buy the first season of The Americans from Amazon and bone up a bit. Sad, isn’t it? Americans do a better job at being Russian Spies than Russians do?

I had high hopes for this book and was actually pretty anxious to get started on it. Unfortunately, it fell flat after the first few chapters. Instead of providing some original ideas for making money, it knee-jerked to the old hats: investing, real estate, tax lien notes, etc. It seemed as if most of the book was about real estate and how the author made a fortune and how easy it was for him to find great tenants and to turn a no-money-down property into a pot of gold. Maybe it worked for him, and maybe it works for others, too. I know every landlord I’ve ever spoken to has always been singing the same tune. The tenants are horrible people, never pay their rent, tear the place up, and can’t be evicted. No thanks. The last two chapters of the book are useless, unless it’s the first financial book you’ve ever read before and you need a crash course in managing your money and your time. I would recommend just passing right on by this one. Not worth your time (unless you want to venture into real estate investing) and was a waste of mine.

The first time I watched this movie, when it came out, I thought it was terribly boring and never even made it past the caves. But, once I realized they were making all these movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I figured I’d give it another go. I’m glad I did. I’m actually not a fan of comic books and have never really been familiar with the Iron Man character or SHIELD or the Avengers, etc. But, as I sat down to watch this movie this morning, I quickly became enthralled in the whole series. I thought it was actually a pretty good flick, well worth my time, and I’m looking forward to the other two IM movies in the near future. Of course, I’m watching them in the MCU order, so up next is the Incredible Hulk.

I can’t see how this show would have a chance in hell of being renewed for a second season. I do actually like the show. I enjoy watching it each week, but must admit, this has more to do with the fact that it seems to be the ONLY SHOW ON THE FREAKING TELEVISION! Who cares about the Olympics. I’m glad I have shows on backlog to catch up on. And we have another entire week of this garbage. I don’t think it will have much of an impact concerning this show’s slow spiral into oblivion. It’s just full of zombie like black bile and violence, gratuitous sex, and people running back and forth in a building. I predict there is no chance for a season two, though others seem to think it’s getting good ratings for SyFy and that they’ll renew it. Let’s see who’s right.

I really don’t think this show had a chance to even get off the ground. It had good acting, good production, but the storyline kind of fell a little flat there toward the end of the first (and only) season, and really never could pick it back up again. They’re first mistake was casting an unattractive (in my opinion) female star. Even the FBI agent’s wife was unattractive. Quinn Shephard had quite the performance, though, as the teenage daughter. I can’t imagine she won’t do anything else but skyrocket to the top in Hollywood.
There were supposedly talks of a second season with an all new cast, but I can’t imagine that ever happening. If they brought back the originals (that survived), and had the family work to break out the FBI agent from prison, that might be interesting. But, leaving at it is, provides some closure. Kind of dull, though, all the way around. Apparently, the Israeli version of this show (the original) is doing much better than this one did.

Tonight I finished a complete watch-through of ABC’s smash hit Lost. I have to say, it was just as good as the first time I watched it. But, let me warn you ahead of time. In this review, we’re going to be getting into the weeds quite a bit. And, if you haven’t already watched the series to the end, this is my Spoiler Alert. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. It’s not just me out here, mourning the loss of a great show. The critics have described Lost as one of the top ten television series of all time. Of all time? I would agree, given that it had a great start, great cast, great writing, and actually ended with a whole heaping of closure – the latter something most show never get.
But, let’s just jump in, and you’ll soon see for yourself. That is, if you haven’t already seen it. If you have, you know what the hype is all about……

I really did not expect this book to be so different from the new one. Maybe I just remembered it different or something. But, I am convinced, it’s an entirely different book. Of the two, I prefer the New Psycho-Cybernetics, just because it seems so much more approachable, readable, and applicable. This one seemed to have no practicality in it whatsoever. Every once in awhile, it would have an exercise to do, but even then is seemed just thrown in there. I’m really glad Dan Kennedy remade this book. Now I just have to go back and get my notes on that book and settle into my first 21 day program. I’m definitely not missing out on anything from this original. -

I’m so excited, I can’t hardly stand it! The second half of The Walking Dead Season 4 will be returning tomorrow night, with what seems to be just about every other show on the docket. Even my mother is complaining that there is nothing on! I’m really looking forward to seeing what happens with, most importantly, Carl. I am also curious to find out if the Judith made it (if so, I’d imagine she is with the other kids). I’m assuming Carol has to pop up somewhere now, probably to fly out of the woodwork to rescue someone at some point. I was sad to see Hershel take a sword in the neck, but I’m SO glad the Governor is finally dead. I wanted him gone, but not as bad as I wanted Andrea gone in Season 3. That took forever!
Fingers crossed that the second half of season 4 will be no holds barred, blood, guts, lots of zombies, running around for your life – you know, what zombie shows are supposed to be like.
CAN’T WAIT !!!

I started into this book with high hopes, being an avid reader of Dean Koontz as a kid. I have to say, this was pretty terrible. I’m quite disappointed. Then again, it’s not the first time one of his books has turned out this way. As Stephen King put it, Koontz is a bit hit or miss. But, who cares, right? I fell in love with his book Lightning. The characters, the story line, the action – that story was an epic for me. I remember turning page after page, thinking how wonderful it all ways. It’s really stayed with me all these years. Prodigal Son was the exact opposite.
First off, the plot line is flat. Boring. The idea is interesting. What would happen if Frankenstein was a real story, how would it develop? Add a splash of genetics to it and WAMMO! But, you still have just a boring story, in my opinion. The characters, from the cardboard cut-out detectives to the Flatworld carbons of the evil scientist creating attractive women so he could have sex slaves. It really just screamed dismal to me.
The thing that really bugged me throughout the book was its jerky, robotic writing style. It certainly wasn’t what I remember from Lightning, but maybe that story has taken on a life of its own. This book seemed to be starchy, stiff, stiffled by its stilted prose. I don’t know, maybe he was just phoning it in on this one. I can’t imagine that the others in the series would get any better.
Very disappointed.
