This week I finished the Science and the Bible course by KI and figured I’d write up a review on it since it’s part of my Unschooled Master of Theology Program. While you’re at it, you can also check out my other assignments for my uThM here.

At first, my thoughts on this course were a little negative, but since finishing I’ve changed my view a little. I think my poor satisfaction has more to do with these courses being primarily review and not challenging me at all. If I’m being fair, this is not the fault of the course content, it’s my fault for taking the course.

But, the content Chuck Missler presents is always fascinating, even if I’ve heard it before. So, let’s dig in and see what he’s talking about in the Beyond Series.

Here we go…

What I Liked About the Course

There were a few bits of information that I had not heard of before. Such as the earth being the only planet to have an active hydrosphere, or that there are only four terrestrial planets in our solar system.

I also think I might just understand the concept of reality having 10 dimensions for the first time. I’ve known it abstractly, they say it all the time. But I never really could understand or visualize anything beyond our four dimensions. There are the three spacial dimensions of width, breadth, and height, and then the four dimension of time (length). In the bible Paul refers to this as, “the width and length and depth and height” (Ephesians 3:18). This is our reality.

But, because the heavens can also be shaken, rolled up, ripped, this means that there is a substance (a dimension) from which the heavens can be manipulated. If it can be rolled up, then it requires the additional dimensions.

The fifth and sixth dimensions provide a plane upon which show all possible expansions of our 3 dimensional reality. The seventh and eighth dimensions provide us a plan upon which show all possible unfolding of our reality in a perpendicular direction from the fifth and sixth dimensional plane (X and Y axis). The ninth and tenth dimensions provide the plane upon which show all possible unfolding of our reality upward or downward.

Now, I’m certain this is not at all accurate. But, it is the first time I’ve been able to visualize the concept itself. And, if just our Milky Way Galaxy is 100,000 light years across, there is no possible way that we can escape our three dimensional reality and enter into the alternate reality that our reality resides within.

I would posit, then, this larger reality the additional 6 dimensions illustrate could be the spiritual world described so cryptically in the bible.

If so, what of time? Is time present in the 6 dimensions? Does it hold sway in the spiritual world just as it does here? What is the relationship between time and entropy? Was there no entropy before the fall? Will it be removed after the resurrection and those who are worthy are transformed into Sons of God? Is there no entropy in the spiritual realm? Is eternity the absence of time or is it a descriptor for an endless quantity of time?

I used to be convinced the bible taught that time would end. In Revelation 10:6 (KJV) it states, “…there should be time no longer.”

I’m not exactly sure how I found this passage, since the NKJV has “should be delay no longer” and so do most other translations. I don’t use the KJV, though I did find it in the LITV, so that could be where I found it in the past, and as far as I know, this is the only reference to time halting in the bible.

If this is the case, then it is possible time will continue on into eternity just without the binding force of entropy.

What I Did Not Like About the Course

Much of these four briefings were repetitive information from the larger corpus of Chuck Missler’s work. The macro codes especially I find quite dull.

There was nothing really informative, no new information to speak of. Some. I tend to find these topical briefings rather shallow, and rushed. I think I prefer the longer courses with many lectures. Maybe it’s just personal preference, or, it’s simply time for me to move on and find more in-depth resources.

Conclusion

In the end, I would still recommend this course and these briefing packs for beginners. Anyone who has only a basic or no exposure to the topics of quantum mechanics or physics in general or the new religious movement on the earth known as humanist naturalism or scientific naturalism, these lectures will be very useful.

But, if you want more meat, you will have to look elsewhere.

Until my next review….

Please consider supporting my writing, my unschooled studies, and my hermitic lifestyle by purchasing one or more of my books. I’m not supported by academia or have a lucrative corporate job – I’m just a mystical modern-day hermit trying to live out the life I believe God has called me to. So, any support you choose to provide is GREATLY appreciated.

Excerpt from Seeking Light Aurora:

Thomas opened the front door of the diner and leaned inside, holding himself up by the door frame.

“What’s the matter?” Terrance said, looking away from Peg and Carol. They were all huddled together at the counter.

“Her truck is still freaking out. I’ll try to keep her busy for as long as I can, but I’m running out of ideas.”

He looked over at Derrick who was quietly sitting at the back booth reading one of his books.

“You’ve got to keep her busy,” Terrance said. “We don’t have any other choice.”

“Look –” Thomas hesitated. “This isn’t all on me you know. I’ve already told you. I don’t know jack shit about trucks or engines. I’m sure as hell not a mechanic.”

“It’ll be fine,” Peg said.

“We all know there’s nothing I can do to fix that truck.” Thomas was shaking his head. “She’s going to figure out that something’s up. What if she starts asking questions?”

“Stall her,” Terrance said. “We just have to keep her busy for a little while. Remember, whatever it takes.”

“But, what about –” Carol had tears welling up.

“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves,” Terrance said. “We’ve all been through this before.” He looked at Thomas. “Just take a deep breath and relax.”

“Relax my ass,” Thomas said. “Save that bullshit for her, okay?”

“Just keep her occupied in the garage as long as you possibly can. She’s focused right now on getting her truck fixed, so use that.”

“Whatever you say.” Thomas pushed off the door frame and let the door close behind him.

“It’s not going to work,” Carol said. “She’ll figure out something is wrong and that will be it.”

Terrance put his hand on Carol’s arm, gently trying to reassure her.

“It’ll work, Carol,” he said. “Have faith. It’ll work. Whatever it takes.”
