It has been a long and slow process to reach a point where I can discuss my writing with others, let alone be a guest on a podcast talking about it. But it has happened. My first interview took place the other day, and it was released on YouTube yesterday.
So, check it out!
The Jason Stone Podcast
I’ve been watching Jason Stone online for a while now. He had a coaching service for Logos users several years ago, a Logos community at one point, and now he works for Logos full-time and does interviews on YouTube as a hobby. His interviews are really great for seeing how others are using the software and picking up interesting tips and tricks.
But it got me thinking one day. He has pastors, teachers, seminary professors, missionaries, etc, on his podcast. He even had a writer of non-fiction books on his show. But, he does not yet have a fiction writer, and I could tell that the way I use Logos was very unique compared to how others were using it.
So, I reached out to Jason and suggested that he and I have a conversation about being on his show and why. He responded with an emphatic “yes,” and our interview was quickly scheduled.
So, check out the podcast embedded video below, and then read the rest of this post to get my thoughts.
What I Liked about the Interview
- I thought it was great that Jason was so willing to allow someone who is in relative obscurity on his show. It was a great opportunity for me to get some exposure for my books, to get an interview under my belt, as I experience a lot of anxiety when talking to people and that is something I need to get over or learn how to manage effectively if I’m going to make a mark with my books.
- I think we provided a really good overview of my setup in Logos, highlighting the split-screen approach (which I’ve never seen anyone else use before), and we went through most of the tools I use every day doing research for my books and my own study and teaching the Bible.
- I did like that we spent a good amount of time talking about my writing process, about the philosophical aspects of writing, and also about the ministry that is forming around my work.
- I also like that this was really good exposure for my character, Zack. He is a very fascinating individual, and I’m grateful the world got to hear about him, and I hope it will move people to start reading my books. Zack has a world of pain, suffering, confusion, and desperation coming to him, but it will ultimately be for God’s glory.

What I Did Not Like About the Interview
- I’m not the best interviewee, so there were a lot of edits that needed to be done. The video seems quite choppy at times, and this was my fault entirely. I spend my days laboring in imaginary worlds with imaginary characters, so I’m not really the best at social interactions or talking to people or communicating my thoughts or feelings with verbal dialogue. I’m a writer, not a speaker.
I hoped that the interview could have gone on longer, but I understand the time constraints required. It went on for 45 minutes as it was, so that was more than the 30 minutes that were allotted.
What is Next for Isaac Hunter
So, what’s next for me? I’m busy working on a new book, Our Son, which is the second installment of the Witch Gnostic Heresies. It has Katie, from the first book, Our Daughter, who is in her senior year of high school and is traveling to Kentucky to meet up with her best friend, Cassy, who is marrying Tobias Kellog, deep in the Appalachian mountains. I’m currently working on the rough draft.
I’m also in the middle of editing “Writing Kathy and Charlotte,” a story about demons and what happens when they are drawn to a particular individual or family, and how they can infest a specific place. In this book, I’m exploring why demons might possess a person or a family in the first place, and what it takes to rid one of such an infestation. We are introduced to Jack, a young man who inadvertently stumbles into a relationship with two women, and quickly discovers that life is not going to be the eternal bliss he thought it would be.
I am also working on edits for Our Daughter to get the manuscript ready for print in paperback and hardcover shortly. I’m currently stalled on the edits for Sacred the Sent, but it should be taken up at some point soon.
I will be working on several new books this year, intending to do my first marketing campaign next year. I also intend to start shopping for an agent and a book deal with a publisher next year as well.
This next year will hopefully bring a major update and overhaul, and extension of the IsaacHuntertheWriter.com website. We will be giving the site a new, fresh, and sinister face, along with a newsletter feature, a storefront where you will be able to purchase all of my books and other materials, classes available for purchase, and a membership community that will be rolled out later on.
There are lots of things happening in the Isaac Hunter Universe. I would encourage you to buckle up, hang on, so you can have a front row seat!

Check Out My Books
So, if you liked the podcast or the topics we discussed and would like to give one of my books a try, please check out my Amazon Author page, where all of my materials are available for purchase. This was a great experience for me, my first interview, and I look forward to doing more of these and hopefully will get better as time goes on and I get more skill actually speaking out loud with other people.
Until my next post….

Excerpt from The Light Aurora
:
The door’s lock released and Dr. Lewis looked around at each of them.
“Stay close, and be ready for anything. I’m not sure if they’re all in the Command Center or if they are trying to secure Level 4. Hell, they could all be evacuating.”
He stared at Scott as he came up onto the landing.
“Let’s go,” Scott said.
Dr. Lewis pushed the door open and walked out into the hall, followed by the others – in ones and twos. Level 2 was similar to the other level, with a long corridor, doors on either side, all with security displays recessed into the wall next to them.
But, as they entered the corridor, Scott’s breath caught in his throat. As he stood there with the others, he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. In front of them, probably no more than a few yards away, were three bodies lying on the floor. One was sitting up against the wall, the side of his face melted, exposing his right eyeball and a good portion of his right skull. Another one was laying face down, his entire back opened up at the spine, as if his spinal cord had been ripped out of him from behind. The last one was a few more feet away from the others, on his back, his eyes seared from his head, black, burnt flesh where his eyes used to be.
The intercom came back to crackling life.
“Professor?” Derrick said over the intercom.
“Don’t worry. You can answer,” he said. “I can hear you.”
Scott looked up, then fixed his gaze on the security camera at the end of the corridor.
“Yes?” Scott finally asked.
There was a pause, static.
“What are you doing, Derrick?” he asked. “Did you do this?”
“Indeed,” Derrick said, coming back on.
“Why?”
“They refused to help me.”
“What are you trying to do, Derrick?” Scott asked.
There was another pause.
“I want to go home, Professor,” the boy said.
“Home?”
“Yes,” Derrick said, his tone soaked with some other-worldly confidence that did not belong in an innocent, ten year old boy.
“I want to go home, Professor,” he said again. “Would you be interested in coming home with me?”
